I'm so excited to make rare gems into jewellery so that everyone can own something truly special! An amazing pair of genuine natural earth-mined colour change Alexandrite stud earrings. They do not come with certification.I have a real love for Alexandrite, I always feel like a Queen when I'm wearing it! Alexandrite is a very rare and sought after stone so I'm always really excited when I come across some gorgeous genuine Alexandrite to use at a good price at gem auctions. These Alexandrite gems are an exquisite deep teal green colour in normal natural light. Alexandrite's colour changes in different lighting conditions so because I use artificial light to take photos this amazing rich ocean-green colour wasn't easy to capture in the photos. The photos 2-6 were taken with both a cool LED light and a halogen light so you can see the dominant green colour with red sparkles. Photos 7-9 were taken with only the LED light which shows the best representation of the deep green colour seen in natural lighting conditions. Then photos 8-10 were taken with just the halogen light and in these you can see the incredible change to a vibrant purple-red colour that is absolutely gorgeous. Alexandrite was first discovered in the Ural Mountains in Russia and named after the heir to the throne Alexander II.
Since then it has been discovered in Sri Lanka, East Africa and Brazil but gem quality stones are still incredibly rare to find. Russian Alexandrite has been completely mined out which makes it the rarest of all, but Alexandrite being mined in Sri Lanka and Brazil in particular are actually more spectacular with better colour and clarity compared to many Russian Alexandrite gems. These gems are completely transparent and have very good clarity with no obvious larger inclusions and are a very good pairing. These beautiful gems are set into genuine solid 9k yellow gold six-pronged settings and come with matching earring backs. It is incredibly difficult for me to find and obtain genuine natural Alexandrite and are always very popular and sell fast so don't be disappointed and miss out! These earrings come in a different box to the gift box used to display them in the photos which is not suitable to include earring backs in. It's incredibly important to me that these beautiful earrings are received safely to your door (or post office). Alexandrite is a very good stone for people who have too much self-discipline. The stone will remind you of your purpose in life, and how fleeting life is.
It will remind you that you should fill your life with many happy moments, and that you should be surrounded by people you love and love you back! If youre feeling desperate because you have hit rock bottom, Alexandrite will give you hope and encouragement. It will bring you strength and guide you towards the path of hope, happiness, and light. With this stones changing colors, its a reminder that life is filled with changes and challenges, and that life is not always what it seems to be. This stone will help you in developing inner energy changes, which usually happen with age and time.Alexandrite will also aid in centering yourself. Rather than just bringing you joy and happiness, Alexandrite will help you become your own source of joy and happiness within yourself. It will open your eyes and make you more aware of the beauty and significance of each moment. Alexandrite is named after Russias Prince Alexander II because this stone was first discovered on his birthday in 1830 in the emerald mines near the Ural Mountains. This stones discovery makes a fascinating story. It is said that miners were working in the mountains one day and collecting emeralds. A miner gathered some emeralds and brought them back to their camp after a days work.
However, when he brought out the emeralds and put them by the light of the campfire, they shone a lovely shade of red! This perplexed the miners, especially the next morning when they saw that the emeralds were color green again. It was then that they realized they have stumbled upon something new, unique, valuable, and mysterious.
But it was only in 1839 when the stones were identified and given the name Alexandrite. Because the stone showed green and red colors, which happened to be the Old Imperial Russias military colors, it became the national stone of Russia. The most prized shade of Alexandrite can be described as elegant, splendid, grass, or emerald. Its red shade can be described as fiery, columbine, ruby, or raspberry.
The more opaque the color, the more expensive the Alexandrite is. Alexandrite can be found in Brazil, Russia, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, India, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, and Southern Tanzania. No fault of my own as I have no control over the date of arrival once posted. I have been collecting and wearing them for more than 25 years - gems & jewels are a true passion for me! I have only just begun to build my own " Gem-pire" to share the jewellery I love to create. For me jewellery is all about the gemstone!I take great care and pride in creating simple, stylish & modern pieces that celebrate the stone itself. I'm the sort of person who wants to own a little piece of everything. I particularly love sourcing unusual and rare semiprecious and precious gems that can often be very expensive or uncommon, and then create jewellery so that everyone can own something truly special and unique! Don't be put off by my affordable prices, it is extremely important to me that I use only the best natural stones & solid sterling silver findings - I test all diamonds and acid test all silver to ensure that what I sell is genuine.
Everything I make is hypoallergenic too - I use genuine 92.5% sterling silver, surgical stainless steel, or a UV protective coating so that even people with metal allergies or sensitive skin like myself can wear them also. I take great pride and care in choosing my crystals and gemstones to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Please let me know if you would like any gems or sizes in particular as I can do custom orders and I'd love any suggestions or feedback. Your happiness is my greatest reward! All my items are sent using Australia Post service and I offer Standard.
Choosing Registered or Express post includes tracking and ensures that you have peace of mind. Any overseas buyers who would like to track their order may choose that option at checkout when paying for your item for an additional cost. Some of the photos are only sample shots of a particular item as I sometimes have more than one in stock, so the photos are indications of what it looks like. Because I'm using natural gemstones there will always be differences in the gems, as each one is unique.
Many of the natural gemstones that I sell will have inclusions in them which I personally really like to see. Even with today's technology inclusions are actually not able to be faked so I tend to regard them as being just as good as an authenticity certificate!
The photos that I upload are also part of the items description. I take photos under different lighting conditions wherever possible to get the most accurate description of the items, but there may be some differences in colour or shade. If I haven't heard from you after a week an unpaid item case will be filed.
